And really, there aren't that many people who know what I'm taking about most of the time.
Back in University, there were a handful of people that could give input into what I was working on. My ideas developed much faster in this environment. Not to mention that I have this bad habit of reinventing the wheel when I'm oblivious to an idea or theorist. I spent close to a year working out what David Lewin had done decades before. In high school I was working on serial atonality without knowing about the Second Viennese School. Luckily for me, people eventually came to my rescue and pointed me in the right direction.
So I suppose my purpose here is twofold. Firstly, it is to get get ideas bouncing around in the heads of music theorists like me (which will in theory benefit me with their insights). And secondly, it to point others in the right direction too (be it via posts or in the comments).
So in the end, I guess the reason I'm here is discussion. The more people that read this and either understand it and expand upon it, or learn from it, or just think it's nifty... the better!
